The present invention provides: an element, specifically a light control element which is obtained by controlling the alignment of liquid crystals within a liquid crystal bulk without using a liquid crystal alignment film; and/or a photoreactive liquid crystal composition for producing the element. The present invention provides: a photoreactive liquid crystal composition which contains (A) a photoreactive high-molecular-weight liquid crystal having a photoreactive side chain that undergoes at least one reaction selected from the group consisting of (A-1) photocrosslinking and (A-2) photoisomerization, and (B) a low-molecular-weight liquid crystal, and wherein the weight ratio of the component (A) to the component (B), namely (component (A):component (B)) is from 3:97 to 20:80; and a light control element which is formed to have a liquid crystal cell that comprises this composition. |
