PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable optical anomaly in a component holder itself to be obstruction to landing detection to be accurately detected online in a component holding head of a surface mounting machine, including a landing detection sensor that detects landing of the component holder.SOLUTION: A component holding head of a surface mounting machine includes: a spindle that is rotatable in a T direction around an axis and that can be moved up and down in a Z direction of an axial direction; a component holder 32 attached to a lower end of the spindle; a lifting tool that moves up and down the spindle in the Z direction; and a landing detection sensor 40 that is moved up and down in the Z direction in synchrony with the lifting tool and that detects landing of the component holder. The landing detection sensor 40 emits a landing detection signal when an amount of received light reflected off a reflection surface of the component holder 32 decreases to a threshold value or less. The landing detection sensor 40 emits an abnormal signal if the amount of received light before landing of the component holder of a detection object as well as after rotation operation of the spindle, to which the component holder is attached, in the T direction is finished is out of a predetermined allowable range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
