PURPOSE:To obtain the bulky, soft paper for a wiper, by a method wherein the paper is composed of wet nonwoven fabric containing polyester conjugate fiber above a particular ratio based on the constituted fiber, and polyester conjugate fiber of which the crimpy form is spiral crimps, is an eccentric sheath- core type or a side-by-side type. CONSTITUTION:The paper for a wiper is composed of wet nonwoven fabric, in which polyester conjugate fiber of 15wt.% or more is contained based on the constituted fiber. The polyester conjugate fiber of which the crimpy form is spiral crimps, is an eccentric sheath-core type or a side-by-side type. The polyester conjugate is composed of a polyester (A) with a thermally high- shrinkability and a polyester (B) with a thermally low-shrinkability. It is desirable that the ratio of (A) to (B) is equal to the ratio of 40-60 to 60-40 as the weight ratio of (A) to (B). The polyester conjugate fiber below 15wt.% is blended for the formation of the wet nonwoven fibric, a function as the wiper can not be obtained. That is to say, when a load of 2.5g/cm<2> is applied, bulk specific gravity is above 0.06 and the quantity of water absorption is less than ten times thereof. The above described polyester conjugate fiber has excellent properties as to bulkiness, water absorption and, at water absorption, elastic recovery. |
