PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a vehicle which can automatically stop an engine according to a situation even if a headlight is lit while avoiding an influence of the lighting-off, blinks or the like of the headlight accompanied by an engine start after an automatic stop of the engine.SOLUTION: A control device for a vehicle comprises: an engine for driving the vehicle; a starter which starts the engine; a headlight for irradiating a front part of the vehicle; a battery for supplying drive power to the starter and the headlight; a luminance detection part which detects a physical amount with respect to the luminance of the surroundings of the vehicle; and a control part which automatically stop the engine when a prescribed stop condition is satisfied, and starts the engine when a prescribed start condition is satisfied. When the headlight is lit on, and when the physical amount detected by the luminance detection part is not larger than a prescribed threshold, the control part prohibits the automatic stop of the engine.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
