PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position measurement system for a suspended excavator capable of further easily and accurately measuring the position and posture of the suspended excavator using a position surveying device with the superior handling ability.SOLUTION: The position measurement system comprises: initial coordinate of wiring acquisition means which acquires the initial coordinates of wires vertical to the ground surface; imaging means which takes images of the heights of two or more wires extending to the ground surface from respectively different positions; movement amount of wiring acquisition means which calculates an actual movement amount of wires at respective heights; post-movement coordinate of wiring acquisition means which calculates the coordinate of wires after the movement at respective heights; excavation depth measurement means which measures the excavation depth of the suspended excavator; excavator coordinate acquisition means which calculates the coordinate of the suspended excavator; and excavator coordinate display means which displays the coordinate of the suspended excavator.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
