A rotor (3) for a motor is provided with: a stacked core (4) which consists of steel plates stacked in the direction of the axis (L1) of a rotating shaft 2, has a solid circular cylindrical shape centered on the axis (L1), and has a plurality of magnet insertion grooves (7) arranged in the circumferential direction and passing through the solid circular cylindrical shape in the direction of the axis (L1); permanent magnets (9) respectively inserted in the magnet insertion grooves (7); a pair of end plates (10) respectively stacked on the opposite ends of the stacked core (4) in the direction of the axis (L1) and closing the magnet insertion grooves (7); and a pressing section (11) for pressing the permanent magnets (9) in the direction of the axis (L1), restraining the permanent magnets (9) in the direction of the axis (L1).
