The present invention relates to a multicarrier system using non-orthogonal transmission signals, and more particularly to a method and an apparatus for transmitting and receiving signals through high-order orthogonal amplitude modulation in a multicarrier system using non-orthogonal transmission signals. A transmitter determines a transmission filter for transmitting data among one or more transmission filters, applies the determined transmission filter to a data symbol, generates a data signal, and transmits the data signal to a receiver. The receiver receives the data signal transmitted from the transmitter, determines a reception filter for receiving the data signal among one or more reception filters, and applies the determined reception filter to the received data signal to generate a data symbol.
