摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing of an encoder having a structure capable of suppressing an enlargement phenomenon resulting from difference in thermal expansion coefficient of a member to be used, and occurrence of torque ripple due to increase in precompression in a radial direction accompanied with the phenomenon, and an encoder using the bearing.SOLUTION: A bearing structure of an encoder has a body part 1, a pair of bearings 3a, 3b aligned in an axial direction, and a rotational shaft 4. On the contact surface of the body part 1 and each bearing, formed is a stress reduction groove 8 that forms a predetermined gap t at an intersection position 333 between the bearing contact surface and a straight line l extending in a radial direction from a contact point 331 between an outer ring 31 of the bearings 3a, 3b and a rolling body 33.
