PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for producing fluoroolefin having improved conversion ratio and/or selectivity and being effective over a longer period of time.SOLUTION: The fluorination method includes (1) an activation step comprising bringing a fluorination catalyst into contact with an oxidant-containing gas flow for at least one hour and (2) at least one reaction step comprising subjecting a chloride and hydrogen fluoride to gas phase reaction in the presence of a fluorination catalyst to produce a fluoride. Preferably, the method is performed by alternately repeating a plurality of reaction steps and a plurality of regeneration steps. The reaction step includes subjecting a chloride and hydrogen fluoride to gas phase reaction in the presence of a fluorination catalyst and the regeneration step includes bringing the fluorination catalyst into contact with an oxidant-containing gas flow.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
