PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus, a control method therefor, a program and a recording medium suppressing the vertical direction of an image becoming a direction unintended by a user and the like when an imaging direction is substantially in parallel to the vertical direction.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus 100 includes an imaging unit 201 for imaging an image and a gravity direction detection unit 203 for detecting the gravity direction. If the imaging direction is out of a predetermined range, the imaging apparatus 100 determines the vertical direction of image data imaged by the imaging unit 201, on the basis of the gravity direction detected by the gravity direction detection unit 203, whereas if the imaging direction is within the predetermined range, the imaging apparatus 100 determines the vertical direction of the image from an image data content imaged by the imaging unit 201.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
