The present disclosure relates to nutritional supplement including a peptide component. The nutritional supplement further includes a source of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids and Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG. The disclosure further relates to methods of protecting against obesity and its related metabolic disorders and inflammatory diseases in a target subject by providing the nutritional supplement(s) disclosed herein to a target subject, which includes a pediatric subject.

1. A nutritional supplement comprising:
(i) a source of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acid; (ii) Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG; and (iii) a protein equivalent source, wherein a) 20% to 80% of the protein equivalent source includes a peptide component comprising SEQ ID NO 4, SEQ ID NO 13, SEQ ID NO 17, SEQ ID NO 21, SEQ ID NO 24, SEQ ID NO 30, SEQ ID NO 31, SEQ ID NO 32, SEQ ID NO 51, SEQ ID NO 57, SEQ ID NO 60, and SEQ ID NO 63; and b) 20% to 80% of the protein equivalent source comprises an intact protein, a partially hydrolyzed protein, or combinations thereof.
