Provided is a method for transmitting antenna port configuration information to a user equipment in a base station. The base station adopts a multi-dimensional antenna. The method includes the following steps: a, acquiring antenna port configuration information of the base station, the antenna port configuration information being used for indicating configurations of the multi-dimensional antenna of the base station; and b, sending the antenna port configuration information to the user equipment on the basis of an RRC message. According to the solution of the present invention, the base station can send the antenna port configuration information to a specific user equipment in time via the RRC message, the complexity and the calculation amount during PMI searching through the user equipment are reduced, independent and more effective PMI searching can be realized, and the performance of the system is improved.
