PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ticket issuing device detecting the size of a ticket at high accuracy and evading issuing of the ticket not fulfilling a reference.SOLUTION: A ticket issuing device includes: a delivery unit 11 for delivering a magnetic medium; a cutter unit 2 for generating a ticket without any magnetic information written on it by cutting off a delivered magnetic medium; a transporting unit 3 for transporting the ticket; a magnetic writing unit 5 for writing magnetic information to the ticket without any magnetic information written on it; a magnetic reader unit 6 for reading the magnetic information written on the ticket; and a determination unit 21 for determining whether or not the ticket fulfills the prescribed reference based on the magnetic information read by the magnetic reader, and the magnetic writing unit writes a character string with a fixed distance between characters as magnetic information from one side to the other side of the ticket orthogonal to transporting direction by the transporting unit, a determination unit calculates the length of the ticket from the number of characters in the character string read by the magnetic reader unit and determines that the ticket does not fulfill the prescribed reference when the length is not within a prescribed range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
