PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a sewing machine sensor assembly so that an erroneous stitch can be detected.SOLUTION: An erroneous stitch detecting sensor assembly (28) for a sewing machine (1) comprises a light source to emit a detection light beam (30) and a sensor to detect the detection light beam (30). The light source is orientated to the sensor so that the detection light beam (30) is induced through a reflection part (31;23) of a component (bobbin case 32 for bobbin thread) of the sewing machine (1) through which a thread (13) passes in a stitch forming process while the sewing machine is running. The assembly comprises the sensor and an evaluation unit (33) that signally connects with the sensor and implements time-resolved evaluation of a detection signal generated by the sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
