PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die repair method capable of extending the service life of a die-casting die by irradiating the microcrack generated on the die with a laser to deposit and repair the crack and to modify a die surface, and to provide the die repaired by the method.SOLUTION: There are provided a die repair method comprising irradiating a crack generated on a die with a laser beam to deposit the crack and at the same time, hardening by quickly cooling to modify the crack, and the die repaired by the method. It is preferable to, after the crack is irradiated with the laser beam to be deposited, irradiate the crack-deposited repair part and the peripheral area thereof with the laser beam to modify them. Further, the nitriding treatment of the whole of the die is preferable, and also preferably, a nitriding temperature is in the range of 500-600°C and further preferably, a nitrided layer exists in 30 to 100 μm from the surface of the die.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
