Provided is a battery cell that can be produced efficiently. The battery cell is provided with: a cell frame whereof the frame body includes an inner peripheral depressed portion formed by a peripheral portion that surrounds a through-window over the entire perimeter thereof and is thinner than other portions of the frame body; a bipolar plate comprising an outer peripheral engagement portion, which is a portion having a predetermined width over the entire perimeter of the outer periphery thereof, for engaging the inner peripheral depressed portion; and an interrupting structure for interrupting a leakage flow path, which is an escape route for an electrolytic solution, formed between the outer periphery of the inner peripheral depressed portion and the outer periphery of the outer peripheral engagement portion when the cell frame is viewed from the front, and whereby the inlet slit communicates with the outlet slit.
