The present invention relates to a packaging system comprising a thermoformed blister shell (2) and a lidding sheet (3), wherein the blister shell (2) consists essentially of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and the lidding sheet (3) comprises a layer of glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate (PET-G) and/or a layer amorphous polyethylene terephthalate (APET). The present invention also relates to a process for sealing the packaging system.
