According to the present invention, an olfactory receptor is identified to be expressed in an α-cell of the pancreas, and it was identified that by a ligand of the olfactory receptor, intracellular Ca2+ mobilization in the pancreas is regulated and finally glucagon secretion of the pancreas can be regulated, and glucagon secretion decreased when the olfactory receptor of the pancreas was treated in a high glucose condition such as actual diabetes. Therefore, the ligand specific to the olfactory receptor of the pancreas can be usefully used as a composition for prevention or treatment of metabolic diseases.
