PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyimide having excellent characteristics such as high transparency and high heat resistance and having an extremely low linear thermal expansion coefficient to a high temperature.SOLUTION: There is provided a polyimide which is obtained from a tetracarboxylic acid component containing a norbornane-2-spiro-α-cyclopentanone-α'-spiro-2''-norbornane-5,5'',6,6''-tetracarboxylic dianhydride or a derivative thereof and a diamine component containing a diamine or a derivative thereof, the norbornane-2-spiro-α-cyclopentanone-α'-spiro-2''-norbornane-5,5'',6,6''-tetracarboxylic dianhydride has a ratio of a peak area of a specific peak of 60% or more and a 5% weight loss temperature of 490°C or more in the gas chromatogram obtained by performing a gas chromatography analysis.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
