PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for transmitting power wirelessly capable of reducing unnecessary coil switchings according to an application of a power loss detection function in a coil overlapping region of a multi-coil type wireless charger.SOLUTION: A method for wirelessly transmitting power according to an embodiment can measure and store signal strength values corresponding to inductive coupling degrees with a secondary coil of a wireless power receiving apparatus sequentially with respect to two or more primary coils, select a primary coil related to the largest signal strength value as an operating coil, adjust a reference value of a power loss value which becomes a basis for entering a mode for detecting power loss on the basis of a difference between a signal strength value for a primary coil adjacent to the operating coil and a signal strength value for the operating coil, and transmit power to the wireless power receiving apparatus through the operating coil. If the difference is smaller than a predetermined value, the reference value can be adjusted upward.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 |
