PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the cycle characteristics of a lithium ion secondary battery or a lithium ion capacitor by minimizing a decomposition reaction of an electrolytic solution or the like, which is caused as a side reaction accompanying charge/discharge in repeatedly charging/discharging the lithium ion secondary battery or lithium ion capacitor.SOLUTION: An electrode comprises: a current collector; and an active material layer on the current collector. The active material layer has: grains of a granular active material; a conductive assistant; a binder; and a film including a silicon oxide as a primary component. The grains of the granular active material each have, on its surface, at least one of a region in contact with the other grain of the granular active material, a region in contact with the conductive assistant, and a region in contact with the binder. The surface of each grain of the granular active material except these regions is partially or totally covered by the film including a silicon oxide as a primary component.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
