PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease an unnecessary delay of a control plane location session used in Long Term Evolution Positioning Protocol (LPP).SOLUTION: A mobile terminal receives an unsolicited message from a location server in an LPP control plane environment. The unsolicited message contains assistance data and an acknowledgement request field, where the acknowledgement request field indicates that acknowledgement is not required. The mobile terminal processes the assistance data contained in the unsolicited message; and awaits a subsequent message from the location server without transmitting an acknowledgment of the unsolicited message.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
