PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hearth roll not only having excellent pickup resistance but also having a long roll lifetime, and dispensing with maintenance over a long period; and to provide a continuous annealing facility using the hearth roll.SOLUTION: There is provided a hearth roll for supporting and conveying a steel plate in a continuous annealing furnace. The hearth roll is constituted of a concentric ceramic layer centered at a roll rotary shaft, in which all of a shaft part and a roll body is constituted of ceramics, preferably different kinds of ceramics. In a continuous annealing facility, hearth rolls are used in one or more zones of a heating zone, a soaking zone and a cooling zone.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
