PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag apparatus which can store compactly and is provided with a support member allowing arrangement in an area on which a large load acts.SOLUTION: In an air bag apparatus M, a support member 24 which supports the impact action side LW of an air bag 16 expanding so as to cover the impact action side of an isolation side crew DP comprises: a support member body 25; and a bracket part 29 for attaching the support member body 25 to the side of the backrest part 2. The support member body 25 is attached so that its root parts 25a is rotatable relative to the bracket part 29, and the tip side relative to the root part 25a is connected to a tether 21 extending from the tip side of the air bag 16 at the time of completion of the expansion and is also movable with sliding along a guide 32 provided in the bracket part 29. The support member 24 is rotated, while the side of the root part 25a is moved with sliding along the backrest part 2, in such a way as to protrude the side of the tip 25b from the backrest part 2 in order to support the impact action side of the air bag at the time of completion of expansion. |
