A lid for a beverage container can have a projection handle 8 to receive a stirrer 9. Manipulation of the handle 8 can move the stirrer 9, to mix the drink contents. The stirrer 9 may be locked into a cavity (82, figure 2) in the handle 8, e.g. by interference fit. The stirrer 9 may pass through a hole 83 in the handle 8. The handle 8 may be surrounded by a deformable portion, e.g., corrugations with reinforcing ribs. The hole 83 may resiliently expand to accept and retain the stirrer 9. A filter (251, figure 12) in the drinking passage may halt loose leaf tea. A condiment closure 71 may have a flap which can be opened to add sugar. The beverage container may be partially transparent, or made from a paper-based material. The lid may be manufactured using a moulded sheet of plastics material. The lid may have a drinking aperture 50 in a raised peripheral annular rim 5. |
