The method involves heating a piezo-ceramic component above a Curie-temperature of a piezo-ceramic material of the piezo-ceramic component. The component is cooled below the Curie-temperature of the piezo-ceramic material. Voltage (U) is applied to the piezo-ceramic material for polarization of the component, where the applied voltage reaches a predetermined reference voltage (Usoll) during cooling before descending the Curie-temperature of the material. The application of the voltage to the component is started when temperature of the component falls below a predetermined temperature. An independent claim is also included for a piezo-ceramic component comprising a set of ceramic layers. |
