The purpose of the present invention is to provide a rechargeable battery with improved safety by increasing sealing force between a terminal and a cap plate. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the rechargeable battery comprises: a case including an electrode assembly therein; a cap plate including a first terminal hole and a second terminal hole combined with the case and penetrating through the interior and exterior of the case; a first thread gasket and a second thread gasket inserted into the first terminal hole and the second terminal hole respectively, and including an insertion hole; and a first terminal and a second terminal electrically connected to a first current collecting member and a second current collecting member, respectively, of the electrode assembly as individually inserted into the insertion hole. Side walls of the first thread gasket and the second thread gasket coming in contact with inner walls of the first terminal hole and the second terminal hole are sloped against center shafts of the first terminal hole and the second terminal hole, respectively. |
