Disclosed are a display apparatus, which is capable of selecting and changing a curvature thereof, and a method for controlling the same. The display apparatus comprises: a display unit which has flexibility; a deformation unit which is coupled to a rear surface of the display unit; a driving unit which drives the deformation unit to change a curvature of the display unit; and a control unit which displays, on the display unit, a user interface (UI) including a menu for selecting a degree of the curvature of the display unit, and controls the driving unit to curve the display unit so as to correspond to the degree of the curvature of the display unit which is selected from the menu. |
