The present invention relates to a motion recognition apparatus based on prediction and a recording medium for the same, in which it is predicted that motion detected based on a user motion pattern has a probability of being previously defined motion to improve a motion recognition reaction speed while the operation of a sensor is controlled based on a prediction result, thereby reducing power consumption and the load of the motion recognition apparatus. The motion of a user is detected corresponding to the previously defined motion including at least one detailed motion, so that the user motion pattern for the previously defined motion is learned. Thereafter, user motion is detected based on a sensor value measured by at least one sensor, the detected user motion and the at least one detailed motion of the previously defined motion are compared stepwise. Accordingly, while the at least one detailed motion is sequentially recognized, it is predicted that the user motion, which has been detected until now, has the probability of being the previously defined motion based on the user motion patter for the previously defined motion. |
