The present invention relates to a wind noise reduction apparatus and a method thereof. The wind noise reduction apparatus includes: a short-term Fourier conversion unit which receives a sound signal and converts the received sound signal to a frequency component; a wind noise detection unit which calculates a wind noise detection coefficient in accordance with whether the sound signal converted to the frequency component includes a sound area of wind noise; a wind noise spectrum extraction unit which extracts a wind noise spectrum component from the sound signal converted to the frequency component in accordance with the wind noise detection coefficient; a wind noise reduction unit which uses a wind noise spectrum component to reduce the wind noise included in the sound signal converted to the frequency component; and a reverse short-term Fourier conversion unit which converts the sound signal of the frequency component with reduced wind noise to a time component and outputs the converted time component. |
