The present invention relates to an upward and downward combustion type solid stove which is equipped with an upward type combustion part using a wood fuel and a downward type combustion part using a pellet fuel, induces complete combustion by combusting any one of the fuels for the upward and downward types or simultaneously combusting both of the fuels, and maximizes heating efficiency. More specifically, the upward and downward combustion type solid stove comprises: a stove body (100) which includes a combustion chamber (110) for combusting any one of the pellet fuel and the wood fuel or both of the fuels; a pellet fuel supply unit (200) which stores a certain amount of the pellet fuel in an upper part of the stove body (100), and supplies the remainder to the combustion chamber; an ash pan (300) arranged in a form of a drawer to be inserted into or detached from a lower part of the stove body; and a smoke discharge unit (400) on which an air suction unit (420) for generating air suction force in the combustion chamber is installed.
