A pump dispenser has a deformable pump chamber constituted by first and second part-chambers 150,250 each having a respective resiliently deformable faceted chamber wall (Fig. 4(a), 156, 256) and a connecting conduit 20 communicating between them. They may be moulded in one piece and require no separate restoring spring. The first and second part chambers (150,250) may be disposed in line between a pump body (Fig. 1, 4) providing an inlet valve from a container and a movable actuator cap (Fig. 1, 3) providing a valved outlet 32. The part-chambers may be compressed towards one another by the pump actuator (Fig. 1, 3) in a dispensing stroke. The dispenser also has an enlarged blocking element (Fig. 5(b), 331) that blocks a restricted opening 20 in a pump component when the plunger is in an extended position. A locking mechanism is provided comprising selectively engageable interlock formations (Fig. 5(b), 36) between the pump body and container 1 to prevent actuation of the plunger. There is also a vent path 44 for air to enter the dispenser container through the pump. |
