The purpose of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and a method for reliably estimating a health state of a secondary battery without directly measuring a full charge capacity and an internal resistance of the secondary battery. Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for estimating a health state of a secondary battery in consideration of a usage condition of the secondary battery. The apparatus according to the present invention comprises: a sensor unit to measure a temperature, a voltage, and a current of the secondary battery; a memory unit to store a correction factor according to an average storage temperature, an average charge state, and an accelerated discharging number of the secondary battery; and a control unit to estimate a corrected health state by determining a reference health state according to the number of days of the secondary battery storage, by individually determining the correction factor by three factors and by reflecting the correction factor to the reference health state. |
