Disclosed are a digital device and a data processing method by the digital device. The digital device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a broadcast reception unit for receiving broadcast signals including content by tuning a first channel; a decoder for decoding the content from the broadcast signals; an output unit for outputting the decoded content; a user interface unit for receiving a channel conversion request; and a control unit for storing the outputted content according to a time-shift function, and for receiving and outputting broadcast signals including the content by tuning a second channel according to the channel conversion request, wherein the control unit stores, in server, the stored content according to a time-shift function. The digital device according to an embodiment of the present invention can share the content stored according to a time-shift function with at least one device, and allow a user to access to the content stored according to a time-shift function, thereby improving user convenience and product satisfaction. |
