PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which can read accumulated data in a range different in an imaging element at an appropriate rate.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes: an imaging section in which a plurality of pixels for generating image signals by photoelectric conversion are arranged; a designating section for designating a first region and a second region from the imaging section; and a control section for controlling the imaging section to read a pixel signal generated in the pixel included in the first region and a pixel signal generated in the pixel included in the second region. When an area of the first region is larger than that of the second region, the control section controls the imaging section to make a thinning rate when the image signal is read from the pixel included in the first region to be higher than that when the image signal is read from the pixel included in the second region. |
