<p>An aqueous solution for use in fireproofing cloth contains a titanium chloride acetate, formate, or propionate in which the titanium, chloride, and organic radicals are present in specified proportions. Titanium chloride acetate having the formula TiCl1,2Ac2,8 is made by adding an aqueous lead acetate solution to an aqueous solution of titanium tetrachloride sufficiently slowly to keep the temperature below 25 DEG C. and then filtering to remove lead chloride.</p> |
