PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new type of ultraviolet emission phosphor, particularly an ultraviolet emission phosphor emitting UV-B, where other than Xe discharge generally used as an excitation source, various excitation sources can be effectively utilized.SOLUTION: By using a phosphor emitting ultraviolet consisting of the general formula: AGdBiPO(A is Y and/or Lu, 0<x<0.4, 0<y<0.1) and a light-emitting device using the same, ultraviolet is emitted by effective excitement with an excitation light source in a wide range of wavelength including 147 nm, 172 nm and 222 nm. |
