摘要 The purpose of the present invention is to resolve the problem of dependency on viewing angle, whereby displayed colours and contrast ratios vary according to the viewing angle, and to provide a liquid crystal cell and liquid crystal display element which enable viewing of 3D images from a broad range of viewing angles. A method for producing the liquid crystal cell, and a photo-alignment agent used in this production method, are also provided. The present invention is a liquid crystal cell provided internally with a retardation film, wherein the retardation film is characterized by having a plurality of regions with different alignment directions. The retardation film has an alignment layer that is formed using a photo-alignment agent, and an optical retardation manifestation layer that is formed by a polymerizable liquid crystal composition, and that is laminated onto this alignment layer. The alignment layer has a liquid crystal alignment function with respect to the optical retardation manifestation layer, and the optical retardation manifestation layer has a plurality of regions that are formed by the liquid crystal alignment function of the alignment layer.
