[Class 99 (i)] In a device for coupling a pipe 17 to a vacuum cleaner casing 11 in which a spring- catch 16 projecting from a rotatable sleeve 18 engages a hole or recess in the socket 13, coupling is effected by an axial movement and uncoupling by rotary movement of sleeve 18, the side of the hole engaging a bevel on the catch. A spring (not shown) in the base of the socket causes axial displacement when the catch is withdrawn. In a modification the socket is formed with guiding lugs 23, Fig. 5, for the catch which is depressed by bevels 24, 26 and then springs into a recess 30 between lugs 31 which have bevels 32 for depressing the catch on the rotary uncoupling movement. |
