PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mitigator or an inhibitor easily mitigating or inhibiting stress response causing secretion of ACTH and cortisol or symptoms caused by the stress response by blocking the secretion of ACTH and cortisol as a result of stress response of the endocrine system (HPA axis).SOLUTION: The mitigator for stress response acting on the endocrine system, such as the inhibitor inhibiting the secretion of ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone) in the anterior lobe of pituitary gland, includes any one selected from vanillin; ethyl vanillin; a mixture of vanillin and ethyl vanillin; a composition comprising vanillin, ethyl vanillin, or a mixture of vanillin and ethyl vanillin, and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers.
