PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a boundary to be hardly recognized even if a tone jump phenomenon occurs.SOLUTION: A display device comprises: a liquid crystal cell 4 that includes a display part 41 in which a transmission state and a non-transmission state are changed over by a selective voltage application to between a pair of transparent electrodes; a light source 3 that illuminates the liquid crystal cell 4; and a transmission-type reflection plate 52 that is disposed between the light source 3 and the liquid crystal cell 4, reflects incident light passing through the liquid crystal cell 4 and entering from a front side to the liquid crystal cell 4 side, and passes backlight from the light source 3 to the liquid crystal cell 4 side. The transmission-type reflection plate 52 includes: a transmissive first coloring part 53 that colors a background of the display device 41; and a second coloring part 54 that is continuously arranged at predetermined space. The first coloring part 53 includes a dot coloring part 531 in which a size of a dot gradually varies, and by covering the dot coloring part 531, the second coloring part 54 enables the boundary to be hardly recognized even if the tone jump phenomenon occurs. |
