The present invention is to provide a method for generating a patent roadmap to enable a user (a planner, a main agent of a research, and the like) in the government or the business to understand a research trend, to establish a patent creation direction, and to predict and plan a patent and a system thereof. Provided is a method for generating a patent roadmap, comprising the steps of: performing patent clustering concerning a target technology and an associated technology which will be a contrast target with the target technology by performing similarity-based clustering with patent documents effectively collected by corresponding to a hierarchical ontology related to a target technology to be written for a patent roadmap; classifying technology properties of each of the clustered patent groups in accordance with a reference for each defined technology property; obtaining a patent development pattern deducted from at least one view point of one among the hierarchical ontology and the technology property classification with patent groups of the associated technology; and generating a patent road map including predicted information concerning the patent development of the target technology by contrasting the patent development pattern of the associated technology with the patent groups of the target technology in at least one view point of one among the hierarchical ontology and the technology property classification.
