Provided is a sodium metal halide rechargeable battery including a solid electrolyte tube, an anode vessel, an insulating member, and a metallic plate. The solid electrolyte tube receives a cathode active material therein to allow sodium ions to pass therethrough so that the solid electrolyte tube can be more stably supported and the wettability of the sodium can be enhanced. The anode vessel is provided at an outside of the solid electrolyte tube to receive an anode active material. The insulating member makes contact with the solid electrolyte tube and the anode vessel to insulate the cathode from the anode. The metallic plate is interposed between the anode vessel and the solid electrolyte tube to make contact with the surface of the solid electrolyte tube. The solid electrolyte tube has a cylindrical sectional surface. The metallic plate includes a close contact part and a support part. The close contact part makes close contact with the surface of the solid electrolyte tube. The support part is coupled to one front end of the close contact part, and spaced apart from the surface of the solid electrolyte tube while extending to a vessel inner surface to support the space between the vessel and the solid electrolyte tube. A plurality of metallic plates are consecutively arranged along a circumferential surface of the solid electrolyte tube, and one front end of the close contact part of the metallic plate extends to a connection part between the adhesion part and the support part of the metallic plate.
