The present invention relates to a switching handle of a motor vehicle rear cover, which handle is arranged within an opening (6) of the rear cover (4) external sheet metal in the internal space (3) extending between said rear cover (4) external sheet metal and internal sheet metal of the rear cover (4), wherein the handle is fixed in the rear cover (4) external sheet metal opening (6) by a hold-down spring (23). In order to eliminate undesired intrusion in the motor vehicle luggage compartment by violent removal of the switching handle (1), the switching handle (1) is provided with a safety element (29), which is arranged in cut-outs (28) and ribs (26), and in safety position it rests on inner surface (37) of the hold-down spring (23). Mounting of the safety element (29) is carried out after insertion of the switching handle (1) into the opening (6) of the rear cover external sheet by means of a mounting tool (38), which is passed through a mounting hole (7) on the rear cover (4) inner sheet metal, by means of which the safety element (29) is transferred from pre-installation position to a safety position. |
