Color homogeneity of a yarn (2) surface is monitored and evaluated by radiation (8) reflected from the yarn (2), which has been sent to the yarn (2) by a radiation source (4). The radiation (8) reflected from the yarn (2) is scanned by reflected radiation (8) sensor (6) within a common plane along with the scanning of an absolute yarn (2) diameter by a line digital optical scanner (1). The yarn (2) is irradiated by a modulated radiation. The scanning of the yarn (2) absolute diameter and scanning of the radiation (8) reflected from the yarn (2) are carried out with mutual time synchronization. Apparatus for monitoring color homogeneity of a yarn (2) surface comprises a radiation (4) source (3) arranged next to the space for passage of the yarn (2) therethrough. A line digital optical scanner (1) of the yarn (2) absolute diameter is arranged opposite to the radiation (4) source (3) after a space for passage of the yarn (2). Said line digital optical scanner (1) of the yarn (2) absolute diameter is situated in a common plane with the radiation (4) source (3) and a reflected radiation (8) scanner (6). The apparatus further comprises a control and evaluation device (10). The radiation (4) source (3), the line digital optical scanner (1) as well as the reflected radiation (8) scanner (6) are each coupled with the control and evaluation device (10), which comprises means for generating mutually synchronized signals for the radiation (4) source (3), the line digital optical scanner (1) and a reflected radiation (8) scanner (6). |
