The present invention provides a method for managing a cache memory and an apparatus thereof, which can increase storage efficiency and read efficiency. The method for managing a cache memory includes the steps of: determining whether or not a bit number of a data bandwidth included in a bank is an integer multiple of a bit number of unit data included in data to be stored; storing first unit data among the data to be stored in a first area of a first address included in the bank when it is determined that it is not the integer multiple; and storing part of second unit data among the data to be stored in a second area of the first address.
