NAVIGATION SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISPLAYING SEARCH LIST THEREOF

The purpose of the present invention is to improve user convenience by enabling a user to accurately and rapidly search for an interested destination of the user when the user searches a destination of the vehicle. The present invention provides a method to display a search list of a navigation device comprising: a first step of activating a destination search mode of the navigation device when a search word for setting the destination is inputted by the user; a second step of extracting a point of interest (POI) corresponding to the inputted search word as a similar destination among the points of interest stored in a map database when the destination search mode is activated; a third step of computing symbol information corresponding to each similar destination extracted from a category index database and distance information and direction information to location coordinates of each similar destination extracted from a location of the vehicle detected by a GPS receiving unit; and a fourth step of displaying an integrated image wherein the symbol information corresponding to each destination, the distance information, and the direction information are combined to be arranged in a preset position by being image-converted into a preset size ratio while displaying the information by converting character information about each extracted similar destination into an output image in a list form.
