In order to analyse the nodes of a content delivery network, e.g. identify potential issues associated with live streaming before the live event occurs, a test is performed on a network node (212, 214) involving using a media delivery application on the node to play content from the network. No user input is required. Node status information (216, 218) derived from the test can be provided to a collection server (208) in the network, e.g. periodically. Configuration information (210) may be obtained at the node from a configuration server (206) to configure the node ready for broadcast readiness testing, the information may be requested periodically by the node. |
