发明名称 Accumulateur à l'argent et au zinc, à éléctrode négative insoluble et à électrolyte invariable
摘要 680,793. Batteries. YARDNEY INTERNATIONAL CORPORATION. March 28, 1947 [April 11, 1946], No. 8537/47. Class 53. An accumulator consists of zinc and silver electrodes in an alkaline electrolyte saturated with zinc. Fig. 2 shows a cell comprising silver and zinc electrodes 1, 2 separated by diaphragms 3, the zinc electrodes being connected to a metal band 6 carrying a wire 7 forming the negative terminal. Each positive electrode 1 may be surrounded by a plastic frame 11 which compresses the peripheries of adjacent diaphragms, the connecting wire 5 of the electrode passing along a groove in the frame. The complete block of electrodes and separators may be held in a brass frame 15 which may serve as a connection to the zinc electrodes. When the accumulator is put into service the diaphragms 3 swell by absorption of electrolyte and are thus maintained under pressure. Owing to the saturation of the electrolyte with zinc the negative electrode remains insoluble, being converted into zinc oxide when the accumulator is discharged.
