In an electric linear-lamp fitting a housing a for the lamp-control means is formed with ledges e to support flanges h provided on a reflector f, the reflector being detachable from the housing by tilting and lateral movements. As shown the ledges e are provided by turning inwardly the longitudinal edges of the open bottom of a rectangular-section housing a to support outwardly extending flanges h formed on the edges of a sloping-sided channel member i fixed along the top of the reflector f. In the support position the ledges e bear against the sides of the channel member g to prevent lateral movement of the reflector, the slope of the said sides allowing lateral movement when the reflector is tilted to raise one flange h from its support ledge e. Other contructions are described wherein the housing sides and/or channel member sides are stepped to provide for lateral movement on tilting of the reflector. The channel member may alternatively have inwardly directed flanges to rest on stepped outwardly directed ledges of the housing. To prevent accidental upward displacement of the reflector, a manually operable spring-loaded latch may be provided on the channel member g to engage under the ledges e, the sides of the channel member being apertured where necessary to allow the latch to be projected therethrough. |
